We have developed a bespoke Content Management System (TIARC CMS™ v3.1) for school websites. The TIARC CMS™ is developed with .NET technologies, and uses a component-based architecture to enable future extensibility and integration.
The TIARC CMS™ has been developed with good user design principals – as we fully understand and support the need for ‘non-technical’ users to be able to manage all the content on the website. The only pre-requisites users need for managing content in our CMS are:
- They can use Microsoft Word
- They can surf the Internet
The TIARC CMS™ has also been designed to separate assets, functionality and content from each other in the logical management of the school website. Few CMS applications do this, which will ultimately limit the scalability and long-term flexibility of the school website.
We are constantly looking at improving our school website software, and every 12-18
months we will look at upgrading the platform to a new ‘major’ version to take into account the ever changing technology landscape.
The following functionality now comes 'As Standard' in our 'Socially Connected' TIARC CMS™ v3.1 school website platform:
- Video Multiplayer – Connected to YouTube
- Photo Gallery – Connected to Flickr
- Homepage Carousel
- Social/Share Links
- Interactive World Trip Map
- 360° Panoramic Photo Gallery
- Exam Result Charting
- Quotes/Testimonials & Statistics
- Google Maps Integration for Directions
- Calendar & Events
- News & RSS Feed
- Request a Prospectus, Arrange a Visit and Contact Forms
- Download Library
- Page Level User Permissions - and User Admin
The TIARC CMS™ v3.1 platform is so robust, that leading blue-chip organisations in the corporate sector are using the foundation technology, components and infrastructure to power their websites. A couple of examples are shown below:
